Who We Are
Buffalo green Art was conceived in the spring of 2007 when we joined two of our passions ~ creating original works of art and protecting the environment. The Western New York area is fortunate to be home to a large variety of local parks and public green space. One of these more notable areas is the Olmsted Park system in the city of Buffalo, an interconnected park system that is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We also have an abundance of wild and natural areas that add to the beauty of our local landscape. Local pastel artist, Todd Overturf, using his own artistic interpretation, has captured the essence of these landscapes in the designs selected for Buffalo green Art.
What We Do
While highlighting our local green space, we are also committed to protecting the planet and our environment. To this end we are offering the Buffalo green Art designs on 100% certified organic cotton t-shirts made in the U.S. Only water-based inks are used in the screen printing process. We have selected T.S.Designs of Burlington, N.C., a company that shares our mission, to supply us with these quality, screen printed shirts. We anticipate offering our designs on additional products, such as eco-friendly tote bags, in the future. In addition, the original Buffalo green Art designs and prints will be available for purchase.
How We Help
Buffalo green Art is committed to giving back to the community by joining with organizations that share our commitment to preserve and protect the natural resources in the Western New York area. Our first design was created specifically for Re-Tree WNY, a local organization whose goal is to replace the estimated 30,000 trees which were damaged or destroyed in the October storm of 2006. Ten percent of our proceeds from the sale of these shirts will be donated to Re-Tree WNY to assist them in these efforts. We hope to add other organizations to our list of partners in the future. Your ideas are welcome.
